Dr. Pepper Cake

Dr. Pepper Cake, from Food.com

This recipe makes use of leftover soda–namely Dr. Pepper, but it would work well with cola or root beer.  I made this recipe as a 4-layer round cake and forgot to take a photo, but here is the recipe author’s photo:

Mousse-Filled Cocoa Chiffon Cake

Hershey’s Mousse-Filled Cocoa Chiffon Cake

This cake has a surprise inside.  Not only is it a chocolate cake topped with chocolate whipped cream…but it is filled with chocoalte mousse inside.  This cake has a lot of parts, but is worth the effort.

Cranberry and Apple Cake

Ina Garten’s Cranberry and Apple Cake

I forgot to take a photo of this cake, but it looked just like Ina’s here.  With a saucy mix of apples and cranberries on the bottom, covered by a cakey topping with a crunchy cinnamon crust, this turned out almost cobbler-like.

3-Minute Apple Pie in a Mug

3-Minute Apple Pie in a Mug, from Healthy Mama

No time to make a whole pie?  Yeah, who does?  But you can approximate its fall flavors with these single-serve apple “pies” that you can bake right in a mug in your microwave:

You can even fancify it by removing your pie from the mug and topping it with ice cream:
