Blackberry Slump

Blackberry Slump, adapted from Martha Stewart

So what the heck is a “slump”?  Well, it’s the same thing as a “grunt.”  Oh, that doesn’t sound appetizing either?  A slump or a grunt is just a  stewed or baked fruit dish topped with a rolled biscuit dough.  It is called a slump because the dough sinks–or slumps–into the filling while it cooks, or a grunt because that is the sound the fruit makes while it stews.

You can change up the berries you use in this slump recipe (I just used all blackberries.)  I totally forgot to take a picture of this when I made it, so I’ll just use Martha’s photo:
