Chocolate Spoons

Chocolate Spoons

No formal recipe here, just a little gift or party idea!  I made these spoons for a holiday reception where we will serve coffee, warm cider and hot cocoa.  Because what’s better than melted chocolate with a little more chocolate stirred in?

I melted a half-pound of Trader Joe’s Pound Plus milk chocolate–enough to make 40 spoons–in my Wilton Chocolate Pro.  The Chocolate Pro keeps the chocolate at the right temperature to keep it dippable.  To decorate, I dipped some of the wet spoons in colored sugar, crushed candy canes or nonpareils, and embellished some of the hardened chocolate spoons with snowflakes and snowmen using royal icing and mini marshmallows.
