Spiderweb Cookies

What better backdrop for a decorated Halloween treat that a pumpkin cookie?  These cookies are like pumpkin whoopie pies–soft and cakey.  After baking the cookies, you turn them over adorn their back sides with spiderwebs–a complicated-looking design, but very simple to do.

The baked cookies:

You first ice the backs of the cookies with a plain white icing:

To make the design, add a bit of cocoa powder to the leftover white icing, then pipe a chocolate spiral on each cookie:

You then drag a knife from the center to the edge of each cookie a few times to create the spiderweb effect:
