Coconut-Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Coconut-Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, adapted from Jeni Britton Bauer’s ice cream base published in The Washington Post

I made this ice cream in a similar fashion to the coffee-chocolate chip ice cream I made, except I added a bit of coconut extract to the mixture before freezing it, and stirred in a spoonful of shredded coconut and chopped chocolate chips near the end of the churning process. This is one of my all-time favorite ice cream combinations, which I first remember having at Dumser’s Dairyland in Ocean City, Maryland a number of years ago.
