Peanut Butter Cups

Peanut Butter Cups from allrecipes.com

I made these for my husband for our sixth anniversary, which I learned is considered the “candy anniversary” by some.  Reese’s peanut butter cups are one of his favorite foods, so I tried making them on my own for him.

I used my chocolate melting gadget for this.  I recommend one if you make a lot chocolate confections that don’t need to be tempered (or , if you’re like me, and you just don’t care if they are tempered.)  This keeps the chocolate at the right temperature, and you don’t having to worry about it burning.

The grainy texture of the filling found in Reese’s peanut butter cups is duplicated by stirring graham cracker crumbs into the mixture.

To assemble, you paint the inside of the paper liners with a layer of chocolate, let them set, add a spoonful of filling, then cover with chocolate.

Final presentation!
